Just finished up with the Ocala Rainbow gathering.  This was the second Ocala gathering I've been to and to be honest I felt like I was watching part 2 of a better movie I saw two years ago.  This gathering never really seemed to take off, justa lot of false starts.  I talked to several other people who agreed the energy was a bit off, still a good experience - I met up with a few friends I've not seen in awhile, but it this years Ocala Rainbow gathering was not the life changing experience it was for me two years ago.

Lots of self-identified occupiers in attendance.  There's actually a lot of overlap between the occupy and rainbow folks and many people (like me) have a foot in both camps from time to time.  It was a interesting mash up but ultimately the gathering never really got too far off the ground.

I'm taking a break in the Tampa FL area, may try to plug into Tampa Occupy in a day or two but for now just updating the site (overhauling the comments functionality), checking in with the VA, and generally trying to resonate with some sense of peace which has been eluding me the last few weeks.

Dealing with the last troughs of pine fervor is not helping my disposition any.  Pine fervor, for those who don't know, is flu like symptoms that result from breathing too much pine smoke.  Pretty much an inevitability at the Ocala gathering.

The website is definitely coming along but I'll be much happier when the comments are working the way I'd like and the photo / video galleries get straightened out.  Getting the site to this point was way more work then I figured on (even though this makes at least the third personal/social web application I've built from scratch...thought that would make it easier...it didn't).  In any case it will be nice to finally have a blog built on a framework coded from the ground up entirely by myself.  It's do what I want they way I want it to without any corporate monkeys (or even wanna be  corporate  monkeys) in the background trying to monetize my shit.

Just have to get the foundation set and the skies the limit (actually time and interest are the limiting factors) on what can be done with it.
